PM says Russian antitrust to track imported drug prices

MOSCOW, Nov 2 (PRIME) -- Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service will track prices of imported pharmaceuticals and oblige to reduce them, if the foreign price tag falls, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said Monday.

"We are introducing a new order of reregistration of prices on pharmaceuticals from the life-saving substance list. The Federal Antimonopoly Service will monitor it and if the price of a drug abroad falls the drug must become cheaper in Russia as well," Mishustin said.

He said that the current pricing mechanism did not provide for indexation, and supply or production of medicines stopped in some cases.
